Doctoral Student Spotlight
I am honored to have been featured as a Student Spotlight for my current doctoral program. View the short interview video on Youtube!
I am dedicated to be an educational leader that has a strong foundation in culturally relevant pedagogy and culturally responsive leadership practices that transform educational experiences of historically underserved students.
Why we must fight to end racism
The protests of Black Lives Matter and the calls for policing reform represent a sliver of the injustice Black people have historically faced in the United States. As a Black woman, I have long experienced what it means to be in this skin in the U.S. As a Black woman in academia (see #BlackintheIvory), I have experienced the same pain at work. Racism is ever present in academia and in all the spaces and institutions of our country. Through my hurt, I compiled a working list of readings, films and resources that I have bravely shared with my colleagues. Please #CiteaSista if you share or use these resources for your workshops. Even better, invite me to speak and pay me to teach! Thank you!
